Pretoria—The South African Police Service (SAPS) has over 162 new cars that were delivered to the Gauteng province police stations.

According to SAPS, these cars will be distributed to, among other places, Alexandra, Diepsloot, Eldorado Park, Midrand, Tembisa, and Atteridgeville.

The Deputy Minister of Police, Cassell Mathale, said they will assist in combating crime and ensuring that the community of Gauteng is safe this festive season and beyond. Mathale was speaking in Tshwane during the handover.

“Here are your tools of trade; use them responsibly to serve the community. They are not enough, but they will contribute immensely to what we already have,” Mathale said, urging responsible use of the state resources and discouraging misuse.
