Mbabane – Fashion stole the spotlight at Swazi Polo 2025 as Pinky Glover turned heads and claimed the Best Dressed title, selected by South African fashion icon Enhle Mbali. Known for her effortless style, Pinky stunned in a sophisticated polka-dot ensemble that reflected the event’s theme. This exclusive interview was conducted by Sebenzile Bhembe.
Q: Congratulations on winning Best Dressed How does it feel to be recognized for your style at such a prestigious event
Honestly, it feels amazing I was truly honored to be chosen Best Dressed at the Swazi Polo 2025 event especially by the fabulous Enhle Mbali herself She’s not only a fashion icon but also an established designer who has literally dressed Beyoncé I mean, what a full-circle fashion moment
Q: Did you expect to win, or was it a complete surprise
I had no idea there was even a competition for Best Dressed I just showed up as my best self, as I always do I guess my personal style, energy, and how I interpreted the theme caught the attention of the right people The award was just the cherry on top of an already beautiful day
Q: What was your first thought when your name was announced
Total shock I couldn’t believe it, especially because there were so many stunning ladies who came to serve looks The polka-dot drama was on full display that day, so hearing my name called felt surreal
Q: Tell us about your outfit what inspired your look today
The theme was polka dot, but it was also a polo event, so I wanted my look to nod to the sophistication and heritage of the sport I went for a timeless, feminine silhouette and incorporated polka dots in a subtle, elegant way very “if you know, you know” In true Pinky Glover fashion, it had to be classy, not costume-y
Q: Who designed your outfit, or did you style it yourself
I styled everything myself that’s half the fun The dress was from Foschini, the gloves were custom-made at the Honeychildstyle store, and the hat was from Ndalwenhle we gave it a little HCS magic by adding those fabulous feathers My shoes were Gianvito Rossi mules The sweetest part My Instagram family helped me choose the outfit that morning I posted three looks, and this one won by popular vote and then again at the event
Q: Polo events often have a chic but classic vibe How did you balance elegance and creativity in your outfit
For me, it’s all about proportion and polish I wanted my look to feel luxurious but relaxed something that says “I belong here,” without trying too hard The wide-brim hat, soft nude tones, and hint of feathers gave it that whimsical edge, while the structured silhouette kept it sophisticated Basically, I was channeling a modern-day Audrey Hepburn who isn’t afraid to pet a horse in heels

Q: How would you describe your personal style in three words
Effortless Chic Comfortable
Q: What’s your go-to fashion rule when dressing for high-end events like this one
Always wear you My golden rule is that the outfit should complement your personality not compete with it I never want to be overpowered by what I’m wearing My style mantra Effortless glamour, always
Q: Are there any local or international fashion icons who inspire your style
Oh yes Locally, definitely Bonang Matheba she never misses, and her confidence is unmatched Internationally, Kim Kardashian I love how she constantly reinvents herself yet keeps her signature aesthetic

Q: What trends are you loving right now and which ones do you think should stay in 2025
I’m obsessed with the lingerie dress over jeans trend, and ballet flats are having their it-girl moment again But I’ll forever be loyal to the oversized blazer it’s timeless, powerful, and instantly elevates any outfit
Q: How has your overall experience at the Swazi Polo event been
It was such a vibe The event was beautifully put together, the energy was high, and the sun came through for us we were all glowing and not just from highlighter It felt like a proper summer celebration of fashion, fun, and good company
Q: Besides the fashion, what’s been your highlight of the day
The energy, hands down Everyone came ready to enjoy themselves It wasn’t just about fashion it was about celebrating good taste, good weather, and good people You could just feel the joy in the air

Q: How do you think events like this contribute to Eswatini’s fashion and lifestyle scene
They play such a big role I know themed events can intimidate people everyone thinks they need to spend a fortune to look the part But really, it’s about creativity and confidence These events help spotlight our local style icons, inspire emerging designers, and encourage people to experiment and have fun with fashion
Q: After this win, can we expect to see you entering more fashion competitions or collaborations
Hahaha, I didn’t enter this one I just attended But if showing up stylishly counts as entering, then yes, I guess I’ll be “competing” a lot more I love spaces where people dress up, celebrate fashion, and have a fabulous time So expect to see me at many more of those
Q: What advice would you give to anyone hoping to stand out at next year’s event
Be confident and be you When you’re comfortable in your outfit, your energy changes and you glow differently So, trust your taste, add your twist, and let your outfit tell your story
