Johannesburg – Renault South Africa has slashed prices on its facelifted Kiger, making the 1.0 Evolution MT model the most affordable crossover in the country. The entry-level model now starts at R219,999, a R30,000 reduction that undercuts its nearest rival, the Suzuki Ignis.
The new line-up currently offers only naturally aspirated models, with three variants in total. All models use a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine delivering 52 kW and 96 Nm, paired with either a 5-speed manual or AMT. Turbocharged versions are expected later.

The facelift brings a redesigned front fascia, bonnet, and bumpers, giving the Kiger a fresh look. Safety upgrades include six airbags across all models, along with 15 standard features such as ESP, Traction Control, and Hill Start Assist. The base Evolution model now comes with a reverse-view camera and tyre-pressure monitoring.
The Techno variants, starting at R244,999, add LED headlamps, automatic air conditioning, smart access card, and an 8-inch wireless touchscreen with Arkamys 3D sound. Noise insulation improvements and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels enhance the driving experience.

Practicality remains strong with 205mm ground clearance and a 405-litre boot. The Kiger is backed by a five-year/150,000 km warranty and a two-year/30,000 km service plan.
