Mbabane – Ncamsile Khetsiwe Shiba, the 42-year old woman who faced two counts contravening the Pharmacy Act of 1929 and the Opium and Habit-Forming Drugs Act of 1922, being unlawfully in possession of dagga weighing 42.8kg and 0.621kg of dagga seeds at home has been getting online sympathy, at least from Facebook.
In an early post by this publication on Facebook, Shiba was overwhelmingly getting disapproval of the sentence passed down on her by the Mbabane Magistrates Court. Others were of the idea that she should be pardoned or have her bail reduced.
McShane Nsele posted, “Why is the magistrate so harsh on her? What happened to sympathy and buntfu? 3k was enough for such an offense.”
Invisible no more said, “She is trying to earn a living. The same gvt will keep her behind bars while letting her family struggle more. She’s been buried alive.”
Lulu T Mthethwa replied to Invisible no more, “while others are raping and killing and enjoying freedom…so sickening.”
However, others still said that she committed a crime.
Some also averred that she should get a lawyer and appeal the sentence.
