Mbabane: Eswatini has reported 82 COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, the highest daily surge yet.
In the daily reports, the Ministry of Health said the total number of confirmed cases had risen to 1138. The newly confirmed cases comes from 410 test results that were received by the ministry on this date.
18 recoveries have been recorded bringing the total number of recoveries to 588 and the number of active cases now stands at 454.
Manzini remains the epicenter of the pandemic in the country as 617 cases are from Manzini region. Hhohho region has recorded 314 cases, while Lubombo and Shiselweni regions have recorded 106 and 101 cases respectively.
The massive increase comes after the country has embarked on easing lockdown while making alterations to work and Social life that could last for a year or more until vaccine is available.
Meanwhile the number of cases globally have surpassed the 10 million grim milestone.
