Mbabane – The Deputy Prime Minister’s Office reports that a Gender-Responsive Budgeting workshop continued at Piggs Peak Hotel, focusing on integrating gender considerations into national fiscal planning and execution to promote equitable well-being for all citizens.
The workshop explored linking Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability frameworks with gender-responsive budgeting throughout the budget cycle. Discussions included gender impact analysis of budget proposals and the use of sex-disaggregated performance data to ensure service delivery meets the needs of both women and men.
Participants also examined three main gender budgeting tools: gender-informed resource allocation, gender-assessment budgets, and needs-based gender budgeting. Appraisal techniques such as gender-aware policy reviews and gender-disaggregated beneficiary assessments were discussed to ensure policies effectively advance equality and address the priorities of all service users.
