Mbabane – The Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) is calling on individuals with multiple sources of income to submit their 2025 income tax returns before the November 30 deadline to avoid penalties.
Thulile Simelane, ERS Senior Tax Officer, and Nduduzo Dlamini, Communications and Marketing Manager, spoke on the television programme Tax Talk this week about requirements for individuals and businesses during the filing season.
Simelane explained that individuals required to file include those with employment income combined with other earnings, such as business profits or pensions, as well as employees drawing income from multiple employers.
Dlamini said the filing process mirrors that of businesses. “Individuals should first register for their TINs and then use the Tax Easy portal, available on the ERS website or through the TaxPay app, to submit their returns,” he said.
Businesses are also expected to file using the same platform. Dlamini reminded taxpayers that filing early can prevent network congestion and ensure smoother processing.
The ERS offers multiple payment options, including online banking via EFT, bank cash deposits, POS transactions at service centres, and direct payments at ERS offices. Account numbers for all banks in Eswatini are accessible through the ERS website and TaxPay app.
Simelane and Dlamini urged taxpayers to ensure the accuracy and completeness of their returns before submission. “Correct filing ensures that the system accurately calculates the tax owed, making payment straightforward,” Dlamini said.
For businesses, the filing and payment deadline is October 31, while individuals must submit and pay by November 30. ERS officials said further assistance is available through their website, social media platforms, and the email info@ers.org.sz.
