Mbabane – Listeners can now access the Eswatini Broadcasting and Information Services (EBIS) anywhere in the world following its launch of new mobile application, EBIS Liphimpho Lesive, which is available for Android users on the Google Play Store.
The app marks a significant step in modernizing the national broadcaster’s service delivery and a major digital leap.
EBIS Director Sabelo Dlamini said they are moving with the times, highlighting efforts to align with the rapidly changing global broadcasting landscape.
“This app allows everyone to access the station regardless of where they are in the world since it does not rely on Frequency Modulation (FM). Instead of tuning in through traditional frequencies like 93.6 or 97.0 FM, listeners can now connect directly through their mobile devices.

“The broadcasting landscape is evolving globally; therefore, it was important for the national broadcaster to move with the times,” Dlamini said.
Among the key features of the app are live streaming of shows, access to repeat programs, and the ability for users to read news updates directly from their devices. Dlamini added that ongoing improvements will introduce additional features aimed at making content consumption easier and more interactive for emaSwati.
He described the innovation as a way of making EBIS “two clicks away” from users anywhere in the world.
Dlamini also revealed that the app will be available for iPhone users on the App Store soon as development continues.
