Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has urged EmaSwati to work together in strengthening cybersecurity, describing it as a shared national responsibility.
He made the call during the launch of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, held under the theme “Secure Eswatini, Be Safe Online; Asichumane Siphephile.” The event brought together government officials, ICT experts, and stakeholders to discuss the country’s digital safety priorities.
Dlamini said cybersecurity goes beyond technology, linking it directly to national, economic, and personal security. He urged citizens, businesses, schools, and communities to adopt safer online practices and remain vigilant against cyber threats.

“Our safety, prosperity, and future depend on how we protect ourselves and our nation in cyberspace,” he said, calling on everyone to update their devices, protect their data, and think carefully before clicking suspicious links.
The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of collaboration with schools and universities to promote digital literacy, with businesses to improve defences against cyberattacks, and with communities to safeguard vulnerable groups.
He added that Eswatini’s investment in technology, including the King’s vision for the Royal Science, Technology and Innovation Park, and the ongoing Government in Your Hand project, is part of a broader push toward digital inclusion. However, he noted that the digital shift must be accompanied by strict data protection measures to ensure privacy and trust in government services.
