PRETORIA – The South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) has provided an update on the welfare of South African delegates detained at the Negev facility in Israel.
On 5 October 2025, a specialist team from DIRCO met with the South African delegation to assess their condition. Officials confirmed that the detainees are in good health and remain in high spirits. The department also reported that all necessary procedures for their safe passage and return to South Africa are progressing steadily.
