MBABANE – The Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) reports several arrests made between September 25 and October 1, 2025, across different regions of the country.
In Lavumisa, a 29-year-old man from Luve (Madlolo) was arrested for possession of 26 rolls of dagga weighing 293.01 kilograms. The drugs were found in a Nissan NP300 LDV at Matsanjeni (Mabande) without a valid licence or permit.
Siteki police arrested a 48-year-old man from Ka-Shoba in connection with an attempted murder. On September 25, a 52-year-old man from the same area was hacked once on the neck and several times on the torso with a bush knife. In a separate case, a 67-year-old man from Tikhuba was charged for possession of a 12-bore shotgun without a valid permit.
In Big Bend, three men aged 41, 33, and 23 from Magele and Esakeni were arrested for housebreaking and theft. On September 28, a storeroom at Crooks Plantation (Lunkuntu) was broken into and property valued at E38,390 was stolen.
Malkerns police arrested a 25-year-old from Khalangilile and a 24-year-old from Ntondozi over a housebreaking and theft case from July. On July 29, Ncabaneni Multipurpose Hall was broken into through the door and property worth E152,200 was stolen.
REPS reminded the public that it operates as a safety and security buffer in partnership with stakeholders. Residents are urged to report emergencies or suspicious activities by calling 999, 9999, or 112.
