Hlathikhulu, Eswatini – The Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) arrested four men this morning in connection with a 2022 theft by false pretense case. The suspects, aged 43, 41, 53, and 40, come from Ticantfwini, Sihlutse, Thunzini, and Mangcongco.
Police say the men lured a 62-year-old pensioner from Dlovunga into handing over E260,000 with the promise that her money would be multiplied to E3 million using special chemicals. They were arrested at Nkwene during a routine roadblock and found with items used in the scam, including plain papers layered with real money to deceive victims.
The Royal Eswatini Police Service is asking anyone who may have been targeted by the suspects to report to the nearest police station.
