Mbabane – Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has urged citizens of Zimbabwe and Eswatini to take advantage of the direct flights recently launched by Eswatini Airlines to Harare. The initiative, he said, has the potential to strengthen trade, tourism and business partnerships between the two countries.
Speaking during his state visit to Eswatini, Mnangagwa thanked His Majesty King Mswati III for the invitation, describing it as a platform to discuss matters of mutual interest. His visit coincided with the 57th Eswatini International Trade Fair and the annual Reed Dance celebrations, events he said showcased Eswatini’s rich cultural heritage.
The president recalled the King’s 2023 state visit to Zimbabwe, which laid the foundation for deeper cooperation. He called on officials to move swiftly to implement joint economic and technical initiatives.
Mnangagwa highlighted opportunities for collaboration in agriculture, tourism, trade, education, science, innovation and technology. He singled out Eswatini Airlines’ direct route to Harare as a game changer that would allow businesses and citizens to expand engagement across borders.
“Zimbabwe remains open for business. Our country is safe, secure, and ready to welcome investors and tourists. Come and experience our landmarks, including Victoria Falls,” he said, inviting visitors to explore economic and cultural opportunities in his country.
