ROODEPOORT – South African police are searching for Jabulani Thabang Moyo, who is wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of two detectives in Roodepoort on Friday, 8 August 2025.
Authorities say Moyo is on the run and could be armed. The South African Police Service (SAPS) has urged the public to come forward with any information that could lead to his arrest.
The incident has sparked a national appeal, with SAPS calling on anyone who sees Moyo or has knowledge of his whereabouts to contact their nearest police station. Tip-offs can also be shared anonymously via the MySAPS mobile app or by calling Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
Law enforcement officers have described the killing as a direct attack on the criminal justice system and are treating the case with the highest urgency. Moyo’s image has been circulated widely, and the public is warned not to approach him but to report any sightings immediately.
