Two Senior Citizens Recovered from COVID-19 in Eswatini

Mbabane: Minister of Health Lizzy Nkosi has announced that amongst the new recoveries there are two elders above 60 years who have recovered from coronavirus.

Nkosi revealed during the press briefing held at cabinet offices on Tuesday that there are nine (9) more recoveries in Eswatini. The total number of recoveries stands at 87. “This goes to show that there is a good chance for our elderly population to recover as long as they adhere to treatment plan.”

Meanwhile the number of new cases has increased to 208 confirmed cases in Eswatini. The new registration cases include a one (1) year-old boy from Manzini Region who presented mild symptoms. The other two (2) cases are a 75 year-old male from Shiselweni Region and a 61 year-old female from Manzini Region and presented mild symptoms.

Nkosi said it worth noting that the number of elderly people who have acquired COVID-19 is increasing hence emphasizing on self-isolation of family members when suspecting COVID-19 infections to protect the elderly at home.

Nkosi expressed gratitude to the health workers for their dedication and commitment to the pandemic.

Nkosi said the ministry of Health assures the nation is committed to bring about all necessary changes in the intervention to the pandemic.
