Mbabane: There is a glimmer of hope in the fight against COVID-19 in Eswatini as Minister of Health, Lizzie Nkosi announced 3 more recoveries, totaling to 51 recoveries on May 14.

Over the past 25 days The Kingdom of Eswatini has been seeing an increase in the number of new cases, recording new cases almost every day.

Instead of recording new cases the Minister announced 3 recoveries, taking the number of recoveries to 51. Nkosi made the announcement at the cabinet offices when giving an update on COVID-19 in Eswatini. She said the ministry has received 218 results and all of them came out negative.

Nkosi said this is a result of the increased laboratory capacity and the improvement in the laboratory turn-around. Nkosi said the fact that on this date the country recorded no new cases does not mean Eswatini has flattened the epidemic curve. “This is subject to the randomness of the laboratory samples batches and the population that was sampled,” said Nkosi.
