MBABANE – Senator Constance Simelane, Eswatini’s first female Deputy Prime Minister, will be laid to rest with a state funeral later this month, following her passing this week.

Government announced that a State Memorial Service will take place on Friday, 25 July 2025, at St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Fairview, Manzini. Burial will follow on Saturday, 26 July 2025, at the Golf Course Cemetery in Manzini.

Simelane served as Deputy Prime Minister between 2006 and 2008 after her appointment by His Majesty the King. A government committee has been tasked with working alongside the Simelane family to finalise funeral arrangements. Further details, including starting times, will be announced.
