Kasi 2 Kasi to kick-off over the weekend

MBABANE – Instacash has announced dates for this year’s two-day Kasi 2 Kasi tournament.

Happening in less than a month of the completion of the exhilarating school ball games – Instacash Schools Tournament – the Kasi 2 Kasi tournament is scheduled for July 5 and 6,  Thabo Langa, one of the founders of the tournament and a Mbabane Highlanders player said.

The Kasi 2 Kasi tournament which began three years ago is set to bring local players from all football divisions to football fanatics in their dusty sports.

The games will kick-off in Msunduza and Ludzeludze sports grounds.

Football lovers are promised a chance at watching the country’s international players combined with local players from Promotional Divisions play-off.

Langa said the tournament started when his then-teammates and himself were having a debate on which ‘Kasi’ had the best players.

What commenced as a debate has now become a platform for the scouting of hidden talent as this tournament attracts scouts from professional teams and crowds of spectators. This was evident in the weekend of 28 June 2025 where Nsingizini Hotspurs’ PRO was spotted watching a match between Ludzeludze and Mbabane where hundreds of fans filled Ludzeludze Sports Ground, respectively from 08:30am to 05:00pm.

The events also benefit street vendors with business.

“Creating a platform for exposure for the unknown (players) so that they can be scouted, and to go back to where it all began and give back, our street vendors make profits from the big crowds of spectators,” Langa said when asked about the main vision of the tournament.

In the most recent tournament that was played in dusty Ludzeludze Sports ground, fans had a chance to watch two of the country’s international players in Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze and Mxolis Mkhontfo who are hoisting the country’s flag in Tanzania and Botswana respectively. They also had a chance to watch legends of the game in Zweli ‘Fire’ Mlilo and Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko showcasing their pocket passes and dribbles.

This year’s tournament will feature; Motshane, Kwaluseni, Mafutseni, Lobamba, Luve, Ludzeludze, Ezulwini and Mbabane. On Saturday, July 6, at Ludzeludze Sports Ground there will also be a social match between Instacash and Kasi 2 Kasi Social Team.
