MBABANE – Comedy and poetry are sharing the stage as the Last Friday Gags series opens its platform to a wider pool of performers. Organisers confirmed that poets will now be a regular part of the monthly show, which takes place at Molly’s House of Grills in Mbabane.
The announcement follows the successful inclusion of two open mic poetry slots during the previous edition of the show. According to event coordinator Cedric, the response from the audience encouraged organisers to keep the poetry segment going forward. “We are open for aspiring comedians and poets who want to try out their material every show,” he said.
The upcoming edition is slated for 25 July 2025 and will mark the third instalment of the series. While the full lineup is still being finalised, Cedric confirmed that performers Bongiswa and Darren are set to return and entertain the crowd.
Last Friday Gags runs on the final Friday of every month and has quickly gained a reputation for giving local performers a platform to test new material before a live audience.
