MBABANE – Eswatini motorists keen on the latest premium vehicles are eyeing the newly launched Audi Q5 Sportback, which is now available through South African dealerships despite the absence of a dedicated Audi showroom in the Kingdom.
The mid-size luxury SUV is being positioned as a lifestyle statement, combining sleek coupé styling with the everyday practicality that has defined the Q5 range. While local buyers will need to import through Audi South Africa, interest is building among professionals and business owners who prefer high-end, tech-laden vehicles.
With a bold exterior featuring a wide Singleframe grille, trapezoidal tailpipes, and sculpted lines, the Q5 Sportback delivers a fresh visual identity. One of its standout features is the optional digital OLED rear lights, which adjust their pattern based on driving mode and automatically activate a larger light area when another vehicle approaches within two metres.

Performance-wise, it offers dynamic acceleration and agile handling, supported by an optional fully variable quattro all-wheel drive. Audi’s drive select system allows the driver to shift between modes to suit different road conditions or driving styles.
The interior is designed for comfort and connectivity. Optional massaging seats, ambient lighting and the latest MMI navigation system—complete with real-time petrol station and parking data—enhance the driving experience.

Audi Genuine Accessories also offer further personalisation options, including off-road styling packages and custom wheels.
Fuel consumption sits between 4.7 and 7.5 litres per 100km, depending on configuration, with emissions ranging from 123 to 181g/km.
Local vehicle agents confirm that although there’s no official Audi showroom in Eswatini, clients often import through dealerships in Mbombela or Johannesburg, where servicing and warranties are still honoured under regional agreements.
