LUBOMBO – Lwandle Primary School has officially opened three new classrooms following months of disrupted learning caused by storm damage earlier this year.
The ceremony, held on the school grounds, was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla and the Under Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Naniki Mnisi. The classrooms were constructed through funding from Micro Project, an organisation that supports community development initiatives in Eswatini.
Headteacher Mshweshwe Nkhambule credited the successful rebuild to the involvement of the community and the support of His Majesty King Mswati III. He described the new classrooms as a turning point for the school, noting that the children have witnessed first-hand how partners like Micro Project can uplift education at grassroots level.
Under Secretary Mnisi urged the school to prioritise access for Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVCs), reminding staff not to turn away learners over unpaid fees. She said the government’s goal is to ensure every child in Eswatini receives an education regardless of their background.

Deputy Prime Minister Dladla applauded the quick response from the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) and Micro Project following the storm. She said the Nkwe Mandate—government’s plan to strengthen resilience in schools—needs the backing of all sectors.
She also appealed to families in the area to contribute food to schools to help keep learners nourished during the day. “They are the heartbeat of our nation,” she said during her remarks.
