MALKERNS – A new digital entrepreneurship programme aimed at empowering young people in Eswatini was officially launched on Saturday, 14 June 2025, at IRDM College Eswatini.
The Digital Africa Talents for Start-Up initiative seeks to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the technical and business skills required to turn their ideas into viable businesses. The launch drew local dignitaries and community leaders, including the Chairperson of the Malkerns Town Council.
The Council Chairperson officiated the ribbon-cutting ceremony and praised the partnership between IRDM College and the local municipality. He described the initiative as a step forward in expanding opportunities for young people in Malkerns and beyond.

“As Malkerns Town Council, we treasure the relationship we have with IRDM College Eswatini in pursuing the agenda of improving people’s opportunities for better livelihoods—more so now, with the launch of the programme that we are gathered here to witness and appreciate first-hand,” he said.
He also thanked the institution for selecting Malkerns as a starting point for the programme, which he described as a positive development for the town and its residents.
