His Majesty’s Correctional Services has announced the recapture of three inmates who escaped from the Mbabane Correctional Centre (Sidvwashini) yesterday. Vusani Leonel Dlamini (33), Emmanuel Marikito Magaya (23), and Siboniso Chudze Mavuso (26) were apprehended near Ngwenya while attempting to cross the border into South Africa.
The inmates, who were awaiting trial on charges including housebreaking, theft, armed robbery, and rape under the Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Act, are now back in custody.
Correctional officers, alongside the Royal Eswatini Police Service, played a crucial role in the swift apprehension of the escapees. The Correctional Services department also thanked the public for their support and cooperation in the manhunt.
