Eswatini shares a border with South Africa, and with the frequent movement of people between the two nations, there is an increased risk of the disease spreading across the border.
While Eswatini has not recorded any Mpox cases so far, the Ministry is enhancing its surveillance systems to ensure the quick identification and containment of any potential cases. Regional health authorities are also stepping up their efforts to monitor the situation closely, in anticipation of further developments.
The Ministry is urging the public to practice strict preventive measures, particularly when attending large public events where people from both inside and outside the country are present. It is important for individuals to be aware of the symptoms and seek medical attention if necessary.
