King Mswati III has voiced his approval of the progress at Magomba Coal Mine in the Lubombo Region after reviewing its full-scale designs and touring the site. The project, owned by emaSwati, is expected to generate 400 jobs in its initial phase, a development the King described as a significant achievement for local business leadership.
He commended the company’s efforts, noting that the mine’s advancement demonstrates emaSwati’s ability to successfully manage large-scale enterprises. He also expressed confidence in the mine’s potential to boost economic activity in Magomba and nearby communities, particularly through the extraction of high-quality anthracite.

Referencing other nations that have leveraged anthracite for economic growth, the King expressed optimism that Eswatini could follow a similar trajectory. However, he cautioned that while many ambitious plans have been proposed before, their success depends on turning designs into reality.
