His Majesty King Mswati III officially opened the Good Shepherd Hospital Eye-Clinic in Siteki today, christening it Ivulamehlo yemaSwati Eye Clinic. The clinic, which boasts a modern design and cutting-edge facilities, was established with an investment of E10 million. This marks a major advancement in healthcare services for the region.
In addition to the eye clinic’s inauguration, King Mswati III also launched the new Good Shepherd Outpatient Department, a project valued at E17 million. The department was made possible through a partnership between the Eswatini Government, the Papal Office of the Vatican, and AG Thomas. The Eswatini Government provided E15 million for the initiative, with the Vatican contributing E1.6 million, and AG Thomas adding E200,000.
During the ceremony, the King also conferred qualifications on the latest graduates of the Good Shepherd Catholic College of Health Sciences. He praised the college for its remarkable resilience in overcoming financial challenges and encouraged other institutions to learn from its progress. The King assured the college’s leadership that the Government would seriously consider its request to transition into a university.
