Mpolonjeni residents in Eswatini’s Lubombo Region have gained access to clean drinking water following the official commissioning of a E24 million water project by His Majesty King Mswati III on Friday, March 14, 2025 with the official commissioning of a E24 million water project by His Majesty King Mswati III. The initiative, a collaborative effort between the Eswatini Water Services Corporation, World Vision Eswatini, and Micro Projects, is expected to transform lives by improving water accessibility and sanitation across the constituency.
The project benefits the majority of homesteads within the Mpolonjeni Inkhundla, reaching communities in Shoba, Ndzangu, Mpolonjeni, Ngcina, and Langa Chiefdoms. With clean water now readily available, residents anticipate improved public health, better sanitation, and enhanced economic prospects.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, King Mswati III underscored the significance of access to clean drinking water, aligning the project with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6, which calls for universal access to safe water. He commended the initiative’s role in advancing Eswatini’s efforts toward sustainable development.
