The Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) is launching a nationwide door-to-door campaign called “Bafundzise” aimed at educating and empowering local businesses. Starting on March 17, 2025, the initiative will primarily target micro and small businesses in Manzini City Centre, with plans to expand across the country.
ERS officers, identifiable by their branded uniforms and official ID cards, will visit businesses to provide information on tax compliance, obligations, and available customs opportunities. The goal of the campaign is to equip business owners with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate tax and customs processes effectively.
Riccardo Kruger, ERS Director of Client Services, explained that “Bafundzise” represents the organization’s commitment to supporting local businesses by taking a proactive approach in educating them on tax requirements. He added that the campaign will also assist businesses in understanding the options available for meeting their obligations, while showcasing how ERS’s customs operations can facilitate expansion beyond Eswatini’s borders.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as micro-business owners, are encouraged to actively engage with ERS teams during their visits.
