Mbabane- In a significant move to bolster the nation’s communication infrastructure, Eswatini Communication Commission has revitalized the Eswatini digital landscape by renewing ten licenses for general electronic communication entities.
The renewed licenses were initially granted on October 25, 2021, and they had reached their expiry date. This act by ESCCOM reflects the Commission’s ongoing commitment to maintaining high industry standards.
The companies operate in the electronic communication space and offer importation, distribution, maintenance, installation, and sale of electronic communication equipment.
The companies that had their licenses renewed include; Print out Swaziland (PTY) Limited, Computronics Systems (PTY) Limited, Informatics (Africa) (PTY) Limited t/a, PC Systems, SGL Technologies (PTY) Limited, Slomoes Corporation ( PTY) Limited, Tsembeka Bobhuti Investments ( PTY) t/a Planet Cellular, CYB/ SAB Investments (PTY) Limited, The Office Centre (PTY) Limited t/a City Office Machines, B.S.N Technical Services (PTY) Limited t/a NETCOMM.
Making his remarks, the ESCCOM Chief Executive Mvilawemphi Dlamini made emphasis that these licenses are not only a formality but a commitment to adhering to the highest standards of regulatory compliance, ensuring the integrity of our industry and maintaining consumer trust.
“ It is both a privilege and pleasure to celebrate a significant milestone in the journey of the electronic communication’s sector,” he said.
Additionally, he highlighted the importance of prioritizing quality of service saying, “ we have to ensure that every communication, interaction, and experience our customers have with us is not only satisfactory but examplery.”
Addressing the licensees, Dlamini made consumer protection a key focus. He emphasized on the fundamental need to safeguard consumer data, transparent pricing, and foster an environment where consumers feel secure and valued.
“As we embark on this new chapter, let us strengthen our collaboration and build a bust framework that meet regulatory expectations while championing consumer needs,” said Dlamini.
He concluded by encouraging the licensees to view this renewal as an opportunity to elevate industry standards and reaffirm their commitment to compliance, quality service, and consumer protection.
