Mbabane: Minister of Health Lizzie Nkosi has announced that 37 cases have recovered from the coronavirus.
The total number of cases now stands at 250 including the 156 recoveries. The results on this date indicate that most of the recovered patients were those under Home Care treatment as on May 23 they were 41 but on May 24 they dropped to 27.
The number of recoveries indicate that Eswatini stands at 62.4% recovery rate as recommended by the Prime Minister Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini saying it is one of the leading rates in Africa.
Nkosi said there are 12 new COVID-19 cases. The newly confirmed cases comprises of 11 cases coming from Manzini and only one from Hhohho region. Manzini toll surge to 156 cases followed by Hhohho with 54 cases, Lubombo with 28 and Shiselweni with 16 cases.
Nkosi said it is observed that the number of senior citizens contracting COVID-19 is increasing therefore emphasis is being made on self-isolation of family members when suspecting COVID-19 infection to protect elderly at home.
The public is urged to continue observing all safety advices given by the ministry of health and World Health Organization. This advices including frequent washing of hands with running water and soap, social distancing and wearing masks is also mandatory whenever one goes out to public areas and when having flue.
Nkosi has lauded all health workers for their good work that has seen Eswatini having an enormous increase in the number of recoveries.
