Mbabane- The Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) has awarded E15,000 to three teams that used drama to educate the public about digital deception and financial scams, recognising young people’s role in promoting informed financial decisions.
The awards were presented today, October 27, 2026, during a ceremony at the FSRA offices, bringing the authority’s October Investor Education and Protection Campaign to a close. The campaign was launched during the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) World Investor Week, held from October 5 to 11, 2026.
Team Ambundance emerged as the overall winner, receiving E6 000 presented by Bandile Sikhosane. Spear Drama Group secured second place and E5 000, while Three Girls One Mess, led by Nomvuyo Dlamini, took third place and received E4 000.
The competition attracted 52 skits developed around the theme of digital deception and financial scams. Participants used scripts and performances to communicate financial education messages in ways that audiences could relate to and remember.
FSRA Chief Executive Officer Ncamiso T. Ntshalintshali said the authority recognised the effort of all participants, not only the winning teams, noting that each entry represented creativity, teamwork and a willingness to use young people’s talents to promote financial education.
He thanked the participants who developed ideas, wrote scripts, rehearsed and performed, saying their contribution had helped make a serious subject more accessible.
Ntshalintshali congratulated the top three teams, encouraging them to take pride in their achievement and continue using their talents to educate others.
He said the videos could reach beyond the competition venue to peers, families and communities, helping people recognise scams, avoid financial harm and participate more safely in the digital economy.
The CEO said the performances had demonstrated that financial education could be informative, entertaining and impactful, with stories helping important messages remain with audiences.
The awards ceremony also marked the conclusion of the FSRA’s broader investor education campaign, which included a Capital Market Roundtable Indaba hosted in partnership with the University of Eswatini for final-year commerce students.
The indaba explored Eswatini’s capital markets, investment opportunities, wealth creation and career prospects within the financial services sector.
Ntshalintshali thanked the authority’s partners, particularly the University of Eswatini, as well as the participants who contributed to the campaign.
He said the FSRA looked forward to further contributions from young people in building a financially informed and resilient Eswatini.
