MBABANE– Simunye Festival has been postponed to October 30–November 1, 2026, with organisers citing the safety of children and the need to avoid disruptions during the peak agricultural harvesting season in Vuvulane.
The three-day festival, which was initially scheduled for October 23–25, will now take place from Friday, October 30, to Sunday, November 1, 2026.
In an official announcement, the Simunye Fest Organising Committee said the decision followed careful consideration, with the well-being of the community remaining a priority in planning the event.
According to the organisers, the festival has attracted overwhelming interest from young people and children, prompting the need for additional safety measures to ensure a secure and family-friendly environment.
The committee emphasised that protecting its youngest patrons was among the key reasons behind the decision, noting that the brief postponement would provide an opportunity to strengthen safety arrangements and improve the overall festival experience.
“Ensuring a secure, family-friendly environment requires our absolute attention and expanded safety measures,” the organisers stated.
Another major consideration is Vuvulane’s position as a prominent agricultural hub, where the festival’s original dates coincided with the peak harvesting season.
During this period, the area experiences increased farm traffic, the movement of heavy machinery and active harvesting operations, creating potential safety risks and traffic congestion.
The organisers explained that rescheduling the festival would help minimise these risks while allowing farming activities, which are vital to the local economy, to continue without unnecessary interference.
The committee said the adjustment was intended to ensure that families and children could enjoy the festival in a safe and welcoming environment while respecting the needs of the surrounding farming community.
Despite the change in dates, festival-goers who have already purchased tickets will not need to buy new ones, as all previously purchased tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled event.
The organisers have also appealed for patience and understanding from patrons, vendors, partners and other stakeholders affected by the announcement.
They expressed appreciation for the continued support shown towards the festival and reaffirmed their commitment to delivering a memorable experience for attendees.
For enquiries relating to ticketing, vendor arrangements and other festival information, patrons have been advised to contact the organisers through their official support channels.
With the new dates confirmed, anticipation now shifts to the final preparations for the three-day gathering in Vuvulane.
The organising committee concluded its announcement with a message reflecting its priorities: “Safety First. Community Always.”
