MBABANE – The countdown to one of Mozambique’s most anticipated cultural and entertainment celebrations has officially entered a new phase, with MOAFEST – Moamba International Festival tickets now on sale, giving EmaSwati the chance to experience the cross-border spectacle while supporting two of Eswatini’s own.
Set for 11 September 2026 at Moamba Arena in Mozambique, MOAFEST promises to go beyond music by bringing together culture, tourism, gastronomy, fashion, agribusiness, business and entertainment under one roof.
Among the biggest attractions on the lineup is legendary American R&B singer Karyn White, whose timeless hit “Superwoman” helped cement her status as one of the defining voices of her generation.
Adding a distinctly Eswatini flavour to the international lineup are acclaimed vocalist Velemiseni Ndzimandze and DJ and producer DJ Cup, born Zama Welcome Maseko.
For Velemiseni, the festival presents another opportunity to take Eswatini’s distinctive sound to an international audience. Known for blending Afro-soul, jazz and traditional Swati influences, the vocalist has continued to build her reputation as one of the country’s notable live performers.
Her appearance at the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz in Johannesburg last year further strengthened her regional profile, placing her among artists showcasing the richness of African musical expression.
DJ Cup, meanwhile, is expected to bring his energetic sound and electronic music expertise to the festival. The prominent Eswatini DJ and producer is known for navigating Afro-house, Afro-tech and commercial dance music, and has already been expanding his regional footprint through performances in Mozambique, including the King of House event.
Their participation is part of a growing relationship between NewLife Entertainment and MOAFEST organisers, aimed at creating more opportunities for Eswatini artists while strengthening cultural exchange between Eswatini and Mozambique.
NewLife Entertainment Director Isidoro Pinto said the release of tickets makes the festival experience more accessible to EmaSwati.
“Now that the tickets are available, the excitement becomes real. EmaSwati can make their plans, travel to Mozambique and be part of this incredible entertainment experience. It is especially exciting because we have two of our own artists, Velemiseni and DJ Cup, representing Eswatini alongside an international legend like Karyn White,” said Pinto.
He added that MOAFEST should not be viewed solely as a music event, but as an opportunity to explore Moamba’s wider cultural and economic offering.
“We want people to come and enjoy themselves, discover what MOAFEST has to offer and, most importantly, support our artists. Seeing Eswatini talent sharing a stage with an artist of Karyn White’s calibre is something we should all be proud of. The tickets are now available, so the invitation is open to everyone,” he said.
Running under the theme “Tradition that nourishes, culture that unites!”, MOAFEST places goat meat at the heart of its identity while incorporating it into a broader celebration of culture, food and entertainment.
The festival will also create a meeting point for artists, entrepreneurs, producers, brands, investors and communities, blending entertainment with tourism and business opportunities.
Tickets currently range from E200 to E2,155, offering different options for festivalgoers planning their experience.
For EmaSwati, MOAFEST presents more than a chance to see an international R&B legend. It is also an opportunity to travel, experience Mozambican culture and rally behind Velemiseni and DJ Cup as they fly the Eswatini flag on an international stage.
With tickets now available, the invitation is clear: make the plans, cross the border and experience MOAFEST live.
