MBABANE— Gospel singer Nothando Hlophe is celebrating a significant milestone after her latest worship anthem, Sithumela Wena Reprise, surpassed 18 000 YouTube streams just days after its release.
The song, which was released on Tuesday, is a fresh expression of the message carried in the widely celebrated Sithumela Wena. While remaining rooted in themes of faith, obedience and surrender to God’s calling, the reprise offers worshippers a deeper reflection on the original message.
Speaking about the project, Hlophe revealed that the reprise was never part of the initial plan. Instead, it was inspired by a powerful spiritual encounter experienced during the live recording of the project on June 7, 2025.
“We felt there was another expression of the message that needed to be shared,” she said.
According to the gospel singer, the atmosphere during the recording created an opportunity to capture a deeper dimension of the song’s message. Rather than replacing the original version, Sithumela Wena Reprise serves as an extension, encouraging believers to remain available for God’s purpose through worship and obedience.
Hlophe described the song as a heartfelt invitation for listeners to renew their commitment to God.
“The call to say, ‘Here I am, send me,’ remains as relevant today as ever,” she said.
The worship anthem also features collaborations with renowned South African gospel artists Jumbo and Ayanda Ntanzi, whose contributions brought fresh voices to the project while maintaining its spiritual focus.
Hlophe noted that every artist involved approached the recording with humility, ensuring that the message of worship remained at the centre rather than individual performances.
Reflecting on the collaboration, she described the experience as something far greater than a musical partnership.
“It felt less like a collaboration and more like a collective act of worship,” she said.
She further credited the featured artists for bringing passion, excellence and dedication to the project while staying true to its core message.
The rapid growth in streams suggests that Sithumela Wena Reprise is already resonating with audiences seeking music rooted in hope, surrender and unwavering faith. As the song continues to gain momentum, it further cements Nothando Hlophe’s reputation as one of Eswatini’s leading gospel voices and highlights the growing influence of local gospel music beyond the country’s borders.
