Mbabane – Eswatini Television CEO Mlamuli Dlamini has led the broadcaster in releasing a documentary paying tribute to His Majesty King Mswati III’s 40 years on the throne, weaving together the story of the monarch’s reign with the broadcaster’s own four decades of service to the nation.
The production draws on the recollections of staff who have been part of the broadcaster’s history, among them Oscar Mabusela, who served at Eswatini TV from 1979 to 2014, offering a firsthand account of how the station has grown and changed over the years.
Among the milestones reflected on is the broadcaster’s transition from analogue to digital, a shift that brought improved signal, clearer pictures and better sound to households across the country, including in remote communities.
The documentary presents Eswatini TV as a public broadcaster with a responsibility to speak the truth, tell community stories and educate the nation, while also serving as a platform that has given visibility to women, youth and grassroots voices throughout its history.
Closing with a salute to His Majesty, the documentary ties 40 years of the King’s reign to 40 years of national unity, culture and progress.
