Mbabane — Lucky Shiba walked away with E500 in cash and a E500 Embiveni meat voucher after being announced the winner of the customer incentive competition at the Embiveni Meats Candana Ja promotion held at the Mbabane Meat Plaza.
Speaking after his win, Shiba said he was over the moon about the prize. “I am over the moon that I have won today, and I appreciate the voucher. I will continue buying my groceries at Embiveni,” he said.

Other winners included Sihlelelwe Msibi from Majotini Khaba and Sphilile Shongwe, who each received 1kg braai wors and 1kg Embiveni polony Russian. Dingane Jele from Mbabane Corporation and Sbongile Matsebula from Mpolojeni also took home 1kg Embiveni braai wors, along with branded T-shirts and caps.
Entry into the competition required customers to purchase Embiveni Meat products worth E100 or more, a strategy that boosted sales while encouraging repeat engagement with the brand.

Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Pholile Shakantu, added a warm touch to the event by purchasing teddy bears, play jewellery, sunshades and other items for over 40 children in attendance. She also visited a stall selling ice cream and bought treats for the children, with demand so high that supplies ran out by mid-afternoon. A young girl who helped conduct one of the prize draws received E200 from the Minister.
The Minister also extended her congratulations to Lucky Shiba and applauded his efforts. She toured the various exhibition stalls, engaging with entrepreneurs and commending them for their innovation and dedication to supporting local industries as a driver of economic growth and job creation in Eswatini.

One of the small business owners who attracted the Minister’s attention was Senanile Dlamini, whose stall featured a variety of children’s items including teddy bears and jewellery.
The event featured prominent brands including Diski Bet, Eswatini Mobile, Times of Eswatini, The Horse and e-Bet, each hosting interactive stalls with product demonstrations and promotional giveaways. Dozens of emerging entrepreneurs were also given space to showcase and sell their products, ranging from handmade crafts to clothing and children’s accessories.

Celebrity chef Lindelwa Makhanya, known as Chef Lindz, conducted live cooking demonstrations and tastings, also teaching attendees which cuts of meat work best for certain dishes.
Entertainment was provided by a lineup of local DJs, dancers and musicians, with gospel artist Linda Dlamini emerging as a standout performer, drawing the crowd into singing and dancing along to well-known favourites.
