PIGGS PEAK – Artists Sky Jay and Mxepy from Hhelehhele are preparing to release Bengkutsandza, a deeply personal single inspired by love, heartbreak and the emotional struggles that often follow broken relationships.

The two musicians, who are steadily building their names in the local music scene, say the song was created from real life experiences they both faced. Bengkutsandza reflects on the emotional weight of heartbreak and how it has pushed many people into depression and destructive behaviour, pointing to the need for healing, hope and support within communities.

“This song is based on my own love story,” shared Sky Jay. “I was in a relationship with a girl I loved deeply, and I truly believed she was the one. I even hoped that one day we would get married. She made me feel special, but everything suddenly vanished. Instead of destroying my life, I decided to express my feelings on a piece of paper.”

Sky Jay said writing the song became a turning point, allowing him to channel pain into creativity rather than allowing it to consume him. He teamed up with Mxepy, whom he describes as both a brother and creative partner, and the pair began crafting the track together in Piggs Peak.

Coincidentally, both artists were going through similar heartbreak at the time, which made the writing process more intense and personal.

“We wrote about what we truly felt inside, hoping that our story would help others heal,” said Mxepy. “We want people who are heartbroken to listen carefully to the lyrics and find comfort, strength, and hope.”

The song was recorded and mastered at Genius Artistry Records by producer Yung Keys. According to the artists, the project took two months to complete as they carefully worked on the lyrics and sound to ensure the message resonates with listeners.

“Yung Keys is an incredible producer,” the artists said. “He added his creative touch to make sure the song is fire and emotionally powerful.”

While Bengkutsandza has not yet been officially released, a short snippet shared on social media has already sparked excitement among fans, many of whom are asking when the full track will be available. The duo revealed that the response and number of views may influence their decision to shoot a music video.

Beyond this single, Sky Jay and Mxepy are working on an upcoming EP and say they are determined to use their music to uplift Hhelehhele, represent their hometown of Piggs Peak and make their school Sobokazana proud.

“We want to inspire people, give hope, and show that every difficult situation eventually passes,” they said. “We ask everyone to continue supporting us as we lift our community through music.”
