Dubai – Honourable Savannah Maziya, Minister for Information, Communications and Technology, met with executives from Global South Utilities (GSU) on the sidelines of the World Government Summit in Dubai. GSU, a UAE-based infrastructure and clean energy company headquartered in Abu Dhabi, hosted the bilateral engagement.

During the visit, Minister Maziya held detailed discussions with GSU Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Mr. Ali Alshimmari, alongside the company’s senior management. The talks focused on exploring dedicated, reliable, and sustainable power solutions for Eswatini’s National Data Centre and other future digital infrastructure projects.

The discussions also explored opportunities for cost-effective green energy solutions to support the Kingdom’s broader digital transformation agenda. Minister Maziya noted that “reliable and sustainable energy is a critical foundation for digital public infrastructure, innovation ecosystems, secure data governance, and modern public service delivery.”

GSU expressed strong interest in collaborating with Eswatini, particularly in delivering renewable energy solutions that align with national priorities and promote climate-conscious development. Such partnerships are considered key to ensuring that digital infrastructure growth is both resilient and environmentally sustainable.
