Mbabane police have arrested a 44-year-old man from Mpaka in connection with the theft of 30 Bizhub Konica Minolta photocopying machines valued at E600,000. The theft came to light on January 3, 2026, after the machines went missing during a routine equipment exchange.
The stolen units were part of a recent replacement of 100 machines at Mhlume. The suspect, a company technician, was responsible for collecting the old machines. While 70 units were returned, 30 disappeared under unclear circumstances.
The company launched its own inquiry after noticing one of the stolen machines being advertised on social media. This led them to report the incident to police.
Following an investigation, authorities identified the technician as the main suspect. Police recovered 12 of the missing machines during his arrest.
The suspect is expected to appear in Mbabane Magistrate’s Court today.
