Mbabane – The Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology (ICT), in collaboration with the Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM) and the Royal Science and Technology Park (RSTP), engaged senior citizens during the Mbabane Civil Servants Retirees’ Monthly Meeting to raise awareness about cybersecurity and the safe use of digital platforms.
The session aimed to equip pensioners with knowledge on how to identify and protect themselves from online scams and cyber predators. It also introduced them to the Government in Your Hand App, a digital platform designed to provide convenient access to government services, reduce travel costs, and save time.
Minister of ICT, Hon. Savannah Maziya, highlighted that the Government in Your Hand initiative forms part of the government’s broader digital transformation agenda to enhance public service delivery. She assured the retirees that the platform is intended to restore the dignity of emaSwati by making essential services more accessible through technology.
Maziya further encouraged the elderly to share feedback with the Ministry to help improve service delivery and urged them to download and use the app to experience the convenience of accessing government services at their fingertips.
