Mbabane- The Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability Research (C3SR) took its first public step today with a stakeholder engagement workshop held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Mbabane.
Dr. Wisdom Dlamini, Senior Lecturer at the University of Eswatini and Coordinator of the Centre, outlined the vision and mission of the C3SR, describing it as a national hub for climate and sustainability research, evidence generation, and policy guidance.
The centre was established through an Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Eswatini and the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs.
During his presentation, Dr. Dlamini highlighted the centre’s ambitions to drive locally led research, shape policy, and strengthen resilience in the face of climate change.
Participants at the workshop referred to the event as a “soft launch”, noting that the official launch is still forthcoming.
