Lobamba – Handcrafted products made by women from Lobamba Lomdzala will now be produced at a formal site following the launch of the Vukani Bomake Cottage Factory by the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo.

The factory, unveiled this week, is the latest milestone for Vukani Bomake—a community enterprise that has grown from a small grassroots initiative into a business recognised by national authorities. The launch took place under the Lobamba Lomdzala Inkhundla, where the women behind the project are based.

Minister Khumalo expressed gratitude to stakeholders who helped bring the factory to life, including CONCO and Business Eswatini. He described the project as one that has outgrown its humble beginnings.

The Ministry has now committed to developing a policy within the next two years to guide and strengthen similar enterprises. Khumalo also promised to begin securing markets for the factory’s products ahead of large-scale production, signalling the state’s support for locally made goods.
