Mbabane – Former Eswatini international football star, Wonder “Samba Jive” Nhleko, has joined throngs of soccer fans in celebrating the Nsingizini Hotspurs win as they clinched their first MTN Premier League title.
The former South African team, Platinum Stars, forward, and Mbabane Swallows noted that the Nsingizini Hotspurs win was well deserved as the club has a well-structured management and an ambitious chairman who has invested a lot into the club which in turn motivates the players to do what they know best and deliver results in the field.
Nsingizini Hotspurs have registered their names in the country’s football history books after their empathic win against Sidvwashini United. Nsingizini is the first club from the Shiselweni region to win the premier league title, a feat they achieved in their second season in the elite league.
“For the standard to improve in our local football all the clubs should take a leaf from Nsingizini and invest in the game, not only a few of them but all of them,” Nhleko said.
Nhleko also had nuggets of wisdom to share with the players. He urged them to; work hard, believe in their capabilities and denounce the growing trend of players relying heavily on muti to “enhance” their capabilities as this belief is destroying football. Nhleko believes that the future of the country’ football lies in the grassroots and the juniors.
“Once we are able to teach the young kids football from as young as five years old, we will be on the right track and that generation will uplift the standard of football in the country,” said Nhleko.
