Taiwan’s Wan Fang Hospital has partnered with Eswatini’s National Cancer Control Unit to improve cancer care in the country. The collaboration focuses on providing essential cancer screening, early diagnosis, and treatment, with special attention to cervical cancer and leukemia.
A key part of the partnership is the upcoming radiation therapy center at Manzini Hospital, which will bring life-saving cancer treatments closer to patients in Eswatini. This center is expected to reduce the travel burden on patients seeking treatment abroad, offering them better access to necessary care within the country.
Taiwan is also training local doctors, ensuring they gain specialized knowledge in cancer care. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of healthcare in Eswatini and provide patients with the expertise needed for effective treatment.
The collaboration extends beyond medical advancements, with Taiwan supporting awareness campaigns such as the Red Ribbon movement. These efforts focus on educating the public about cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment options, helping to build a more informed and health-conscious population.
