SIPHOFANENI — Fast-rising local artist Young Zesh delivered a standout performance over the weekend when he shared the stage with South African rap star Big Zulu during the Zulu D Birthday Celebration Mega Escape & Spin Fiesta held at Roviera Lodge.
The two-day entertainment extravaganza, held on May 22 and 23, attracted hundreds of music lovers and spinning enthusiasts from across Eswatini and neighbouring South Africa. The event, headlined by Big Zulu on Saturday night, combined live music, spinning culture and high-energy entertainment into what many described as an unforgettable weekend experience.
Speaking after his performance, Young Zesh described the opportunity to perform alongside Big Zulu as one of the biggest milestones of his music career.
“Performing alongside Big Zulu was honestly a dream come true for me. Seeing the crowd sing along to his biggest songs while I was sharing that stage with him was a powerful feeling,” said Young Zesh.
The artist said the atmosphere throughout the night was electrifying and inspired him to continue pushing harder in the music industry.
“The energy was unbelievable, and it reminded me how far music can connect people. It motivated me even more to keep pushing and representing where I come from,” he said.
Young Zesh revealed that one of his favourite moments of the evening came when fans sang along word for word during the performance, creating an unforgettable atmosphere inside the venue.
“My favourite moment was definitely when the whole crowd started singing word for word and the atmosphere just became electric. Looking across and seeing Big Zulu enjoying the moment too made it very special for me. That’s a moment I’ll never forget,” he added.
He also praised fans for bringing unmatched energy and support throughout the performance.
“The fans gave me so much energy last night. Hearing people sing along, scream, dance and show real love pushed me to give everything on that stage. Moments like that remind me why I do music, because the supporters are the heart of everything,” said the artist.
Beyond the excitement, Young Zesh said sharing a platform with a seasoned performer like Big Zulu taught him valuable lessons about humility, discipline and connecting with audiences.
“Sharing a stage with someone as big as Big Zulu taught me the importance of humility, discipline and connecting with the people. He carries himself like a true leader, and seeing how he handles the crowd and respects the fans inspired me a lot as an artist,” he said.
The performance marked another important chapter for the emerging entertainer, who promised supporters that even bigger projects and performances are still on the way.
“Fans should expect bigger music, more performances and more unforgettable moments from Young Zesh. Last night was only the beginning. I’m working hard, growing every day, and there are exciting collaborations and projects coming soon. The mission now is to take the movement even further,” he said.
