MASERU – Lesotho and India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at accelerating digital transformation in the Mountain Kingdom, with a focus on e-governance, artificial intelligence, and youth-driven tech solutions.
The agreement was signed on 21 July 2025 by Honourable Nthati Moorosi, Minister of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation, during the official visit of India’s Minister of State for External Affairs, Mr Pabitra Margherita.
Held in Maseru, the signing ceremony forms part of a broader cooperation between the two countries. Minister Moorosi said the partnership would strengthen Lesotho’s digital infrastructure and help improve public service delivery through systems inspired by India Stack – India’s open-source digital framework already adopted by several countries.
India’s High Commissioner to Lesotho, Mr Madan Mohan Sethi, and other officials from the Indian delegation were also present at the event. Mr Margherita used the occasion to express India’s interest in collaborating further in sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, tourism, and renewable energy.
