Mbabane: Barely a year after being appointed Athletics Eswatini Public Relations Officer, Sihle Mamba has relinquished his position with immediate effect.
The former Manzini Wanderers PRO announced his decision yesterday, paying special tribute to AE president Zakhele Dlamini and long Secretary General Thoba Mazibuko.
“It has been wonderful meeting you and the teams and learning more about athletics vision. And I always enjoy having a chance to talk with other high profile people of other sports. Athletics Eswatini seems like one excellent home. I love that you are all committed to cross department collaboration. And it was great to hear so many people outside the team participate in creative processes. In my experience, that level of cooperation results in the best outcome.
I was also excited to learn a lot, especialy being out there seeing people doing what they are talented in, athletic-wise. This has always been one of my favorite part.Thank you for everything. I honestly appreciate my former President Dlamini Zakhele. Thank you for your loyal support you, are a true leader that everyone out there would love to work with.
To Mazibuko Thoba thank you so much my former COO for the support Mwelase keep on doing the good work God bless. I salute you all. You have a space in my heart. I mean you are my second home Athletics Eswatini. Good bye,” he wrote on his Facebook account.
Mamba’s new task was greatly affected by Covid-19 as the athletics season, like other sports were brought to a halt back in March.
Currently, AE is strategising on how best its season can resume under safe guidelines after Prime Minister Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini gave the green light for the sport. Athletics along with golf, darts, tennis and pool among other sports have been described as low risk by government.
