Mbabane: The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced that Ngwenya Border Post will be closing at 2200hrs every Wednesdays starting from September 2.
The announcement was made by the ministry’s Principal Secretary Nhlanhla Nxumalo through a ministerial statement issued on Tuesday.
Nxumalo said this is being made to make time for a routine deep cleaning and fumigation exercise as a measure to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Nxumalo said all cargo that is within NPCCA will be cleared before closure.
The border will continue to operate normally on other days of the week which is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, opening at 0700hrs and closing at 0000hrs.
Ngwenya Border Post was once hit by COVID-19 in May as a positive cases was reported on the entry point, however the border post was later opened.
