Mbabane: Senator Chief Nzameya Nhlabatsi of Ka-Nzameya in the Shiselweni region has passed on.
He died mid-morning yesterday at Mbabane Clinic. On Wednesday it is alleged that the senator complained of flu like symptoms and was taken to the hospital. Later it was said he had experienced breathing difficulties.
Chief Nzameya has served the King and country for over 20 years, as a politician and in advisory councils. He is one of the elder statesmen who knew the Tinkhundla system of governance inside out.
All the relatives contacted said they were on their way to a meeting convened by an elder, apparently to be briefed about the chief’s death. As a result, they were reluctant to comment on the issue until they had met
Senate President Lindiwe Dlamini declined to comment on the matter until it has been officially communicated to her office. Acting Ludzidzini Governor Lusendvo Fakudze declined comment as the matter was still not officially reported to the elders.
His death followed that of Princess Ntfombindze of Eluvinjelweni, Price Tsekedi and Prince Phinda. Another senior community leader who passed on a few months ago is Lobamba Lomdzala Indvuna Mlobokazana Fakudze.
