HIS MAJESTY KING MSWATI III SUMMONS LUTSANGO FOR THE SECOND SESSION OF BUGANU CEREMONY
His Majesty King Mswati III has issued a summons for the Lutsango regiment to gather for the second session of the Buganu Ceremony. The event is scheduled to take place from Friday, March 8, 2024, until Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the Hlane Royal Residence. The announcement was officially made by acting Indvuna yeLutsango, Phindile Matsebula, this afternoon at the Ludzidzini Royal Residence.
The Buganu Ceremony, a significant cultural event in the Kingdom of Eswatini, involves the participation of various regiments, each representing different regions of the country. The Lutsango regiment, led by the acting leader of Lubombo Region, will assemble at the Hlane Royal Residence on Friday, heralding the commencement of the festivities.
Traditionally, the Lutsango regiment arrives at the ceremony carrying the buganu brew, a symbolic and sacred fruit. This ceremonial fruit plays a central role in the Buganu Ceremony, embodying cultural significance and heritage. On the following day, Saturday, the main festivities, including vibrant song and dance performances, will take place, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Eswatini.
The Buganu Ceremony always attracts a significant number of participants and spectators from various parts of the country and beyond. Celebrating Eswatini’s customs and traditions, the event serves as a uniting force for the nation, fostering a sense of pride and cultural identity among the Swazi people.
Sunday will mark the conclusion of the Lutsango regiment’s participation in the ceremony, as they will be dispersed.
